A trip to the surgeon's today for follow up, revealed that the inflamation in my throat that was seen when they did the endoscope in October, is pre cancerous for esophageal cancer.
She said it needs to be treated agressively and they will do another scope in a few months to check it out. DANG!

Thanks for your concerns...No chemo, it is only PRE cancer. Indications are that I have a lot of acid reflux that irritates my esophagus.  I don't notice it! but have had this aggravating hoarse cough for almost a year. and they say it is from the reflux. He had prescribed Nexium, but when I picked it up, it was going to cost over $100, and the pharmacist aide said that Prilosec would be the same, so I asked the doctor and he said sure. So I have been taking it. Yesterday his PA said the dosage is not strong enough for the agressive treatment i need, so I am doubling the dose. I would be willing to pay for the Nexium at this point!! and IN January, my insurance kicks in again and would pay most of it. but she said to go ahead and try the heavier dose of Prilosec. Every time I cough now, I think CANCER! AAARRRGGGHHH!! I found myself hyper-ventilating this morning, NERVES!

Ask your pharmacist what would be the equivalent of Nexium. Protonix maybe? Drs don't always realize we need to save money. Considering your need for it, you might be eligible for samples, or some program through the insurance company.

Twice before, they have thought I had cancer but tests and surgeries have proved them wrong.

You might even want to check the prilosec website for special offers or coupons. i now take neixium which works well. sometimes even they offer special discounts for mediences. check the website or ask your doctor. I do know that stuff is expensive.

We were very close as we could be, writing all the time and she sent me some things of my great grandfathers since I did not know him and wanted to get information about him. She was my dad’s father’s sister. I am going to miss her. She was in a nursing home and decided she was not going to eat, she was 92 and she did live a long life I am just sad. Dad waited to tell me as he knew I would be upset. If you could pray for our family here and up in Indiana that would be great.

I think they just make the choice to not live any longer when they quit eating.My mother in law did the same thing, she just got tired of living and quit eating. I think My father in law was the same. They were both 100.
It doesn't make it any easier to lose them.
I hope you can cherish your fond memories and let Aunt Rosemary live in your heart!

The woman I took care of the last 4 years passed away Monday. We knew it was coming but it still made it hard. I was afraid I'ld faint at the funeral home but I didn't, but was still very upset.

Hi I am a life time member but have not been on the website for a while and I was updating my info and decided to put in a prayer for my good friend at Church her mother has been near to death 3 times and today makes 4 they rushed her to the hospital ,they thought she had a stroke. Jen, it is unfortuneate that a sad situation has led you to this thread. I welcome you and will keep your GF mom in my thoughts and prayers along with all my other 'friends' from the BB. Please visit more often, you will find that we're a great bunch of people from all over the US & even Canada that get together when possible (meet in person) but mainly converse & share stories and requests & even questions for help here. You will quickly become addictive but don't worry it's a GOOD addiction, one you won't be sorry for. If you have time please go to the "Welcome Member" thread and find your state and post there, you'll find others that are right around the corner or possibly in your own backyard ; ).

hello ladies im new to the posting section. my name is annmarie im 33
from syracuse ny. ide like to tell you about myself. fist im the PROUD
mother of 5 amazing children [4boys1girl]. im engaged to my love of
7yrs.(pedro) when i was born i had 2 holes in my heart and i was born
with only 1 kidney(im the offspring of the drug DES that was recalled
yrs ago.) dec 16 of 06 i lost my mother to cancer(breast n
pancreatic).after i came back home from florida(mom) i was diagnossed
with stage 3 type 4 melignant melinoma. because of my heatr n 1 kidney
they cant do any type of kemo/radiation the only thing tey could do is
immuno therapy but they also cant because the 1 kidney they didnt think
my body could build back my immune system. they found out through
testing that it spread to my lymph nodes. it affected my right neck and
both armpits. i have a scar from 1 shoulder to the other.aprox 3 inches
deep.they took out all the muscle along the scar. i just had another
biopsy 3 weeks ago that came back good i have 3 more biopsys to go. i
also have to get a baraca annalysis test done to see if i carry the
breast n cervical cancer. the dr said im more likely to carry the gene
cuz my mom n then ive already had cancer.ive gotten more into crafts
due to not being able to go outside as much(sun).i love doing wreaths
and table arrangements. ide love to get into makeing sented candles and

Hi AnneMarie... there is a more up to date prayer list under the 'everything but crafting section' This one was the original and when the board was updated, there was a new thread started over there. when i update the prayer list, i will certainly add you to it..

My little Grandson, Kaden, who is 2 1/2 has been in the hospital bronchitis and pneumonia. He was also in the hospital about 2 months ago with a stomach virus. Pray for "Kaden" that he will get better soon. He is usually so active, so it's hard seeing him feeling so bad. Thank you.
