Wow Boop, you're on a winning streak!

I had a fun weekend. We went out to the city and hubby's cousin invited to a corn maze. We got there at supper time and cooked smokies over a fire. It was dark when we went through the haunted forest there, that was really fun! Then we went in the maze and part of it was to find 8 signs but I think we found 6 of them. One of them we found 3 times, lol. It was good exercise anyway!

Hey Deb, congrats...you are lucky in winning...I went to the red hat convention and didn't win a thing. They said at the beginning that everyone would win a door prize...ha they lied...they did give some gifts away for everyone tho. oh well, i am a loser all around...oh wait...i forgot..i was the only one who did win at the casino... haha.......oh by the way, no ticket yet from the state of Ill. hehe Lavendar...sounds like a real great time. I always wanted to do the maze thing but have to drive so far to do that here. Have fun everyone.

I am usually not too lucky. Linda got a couple of calls. She won a basket of cosmetics and also a prize from a gift shop! Woo hoo! I would trade her my necklace any day. Did I tell you I put in an application for Health Information Clerk at the hospital? It would only be one day a week, but I could add that to the two that I work and have my foot in the door at the hospital! Deb

I won something else from the Women's Expo. A basket of USANA products: vitamins, snack bars, energy drinks, skin care, etc. I am buying the vitamins as I think they sound really good. Deb

Went to what they call an Art Tour, where my friend and I went to visit various artist's studios in the community. WOW! Didn't know such talent existed around here. Did sign up for a glass jewelry class. It was like the amazing race in that we were trying to get to each one and get a business card so we could get in the drawing for some art! The bad news.....lost my favorite pair of good eye glasses. Maybe I will be lucky and they will show up. Deb

Do you have an interview with the hospital yet? Sounds like a great boost forward...Hope it pans out for you...how did the Kohls one go? I went on an Art tour last year. We didn't get to all of them as the time was short. It was fun, but each artist had something at all of the other ones studios..so it wasn't really necessary to go to all of them. But like you we had to have a card signed to get a prize...it was actually ugly so we decided to not get all signatures..hahaha I think I heard today that there is another one coming up, but I probably am too busy to go...oh well....

Sounds as tho you ladies have had interesting weeks.

I've not done a whole lot but have spent most of the past 2 days working on my entry for the toy contest.  I think I've finished all of the "models" and have to get busy on the "real things".  No matter how much I think on it, things seem to progess better in the mind than when I put them into practice.  There are always glitches that have to be worked out.

Is anyone else entering?  I haven't heard otherwise so, evidently, no one from the boards won in the ornament contest---or she isn't saying yet.

I developed this cold, felt like H1N1...who knows? Anyway, had a sore throat since Thursday. Yesterday got struck with the stuffy head, sore eyes, etc. Still, I managed to somehow clear some stuff downstairs in my craft mess. Have a job interview this week. It is only for one day a week and the hospital benefits don't combine with the clinic, so I still wouldn't have benefits, but I would have my foot in the door at the hospital. Meanwhile, my supervisor said there MIGHT be openings coming up as a scheduler four days a week. Ay yi yi! May the Lord guide me.

Well it sounds like sinus to me...but like you said..who knows.. they aren't even testing anyone here any more cuz by the time the tests come back they are over it.. I, myself, had one of my headaches for two days but had to work anyway. Well, I worked my last nite on Fri nite..it was a little sad but a load left off too...I will miss it. But my other schedule is that I still get 4 days off in a row..this week is one of them...I know I am going to be busy anyway. Saturday is a redhat event and Sunday we have a baptism..so there's two days planned already. I really want to get my craft room cleaned and organized also..so maybe, just maybe I can get a start...hehe I have overtaken the whole upstairs now except the grandsons room...hehehe is that really bad of me or what? disorganized person, I would say...hehe well, here I go rambling on....so everyone have a good week..

I went to Michaels this morning and got a flyer in the bag that had info on a Michaels/Martha Stewart contest.  You just have to e-mail in a photo of a project you've made.  There are 2 categories---over or under $20 cost.

I entered one of my life size Santas in the (waaaaaayy)  over $20 category.  Now I'd appreciate everyone's help in winning the contest.  Please go to

http://www.michaelscontest.com/gallery

and rate/vote for my entry.  I don't know if you can click here or not.  You may have to copy/paste.  You can also go to Michaels.com .  The rules are there too.

It's one per person on the entries so I can't enter the under $20---wish I could!  1st prize is a trip to New York City---somewhere I've not been---yet.

There are a lot of very talented people here and, from what I saw in their Gallery, many of you have made much better things than some of the items on display there.  I think you should be entering too.  The judges also select 2 weekly entries and award $100 gift cards for Michaels.  Just that makes it worth entering.

I'll rate yours, if you rate mine.

And remember, "You can't win if it ain't in!"

I guess it works better to use the link button. You can even make it open in a new window.

This is yours, right?

Thanks heaps to both of you.  I don't know enough about computers.  I suppose, it's like just about everything else in my life---I know just enough about  things to be dangerous.  I can't call myself an expert about anything.  Eclectic would probably fit.

I have been sick for a week. I don't know if I have the flu or walking pneumonia or what. I have been sickly since last Thursday. Then went to urgent care Monday morning. Started on Amoxicillin, and that made me nauseaus. Was on cold medicine and got a migraine on Wednesday. Took something for the migraine and almost passed out. Ended up being monitored by an RN at this clinic where my sister had an appointment! I'm so sick of feeling dizzy and everything. There! Thanks for letting me vent. I did apply for two different jobs. One is for every other weekend in Medical Records at the hospital. That would be low stress and combined with my job now, would have benefits again. The second job is in registration at the clinic. I don't really care if I would get it or not, but would love to turn it down....LOL!

Well started on the SS game. I don't think I"ll be making any more Christmas cards because of this. This will be taking alot of time. Besides postage is dang awful now. Went to ER yesterday. Had a partial bowel obstruction. I knew what it was, and was in alot of pain. They gave me an IV to flush out my pipes and something for nausea. By 6pm I had a McDonald's burger!...LOL I was supposed to be on clears...yuck! I am not eating any roughage this weekend, that's for sure. Going away with my friend and my sister to stay in a hotel, go shopping, and a day at the spa. We are pretending we have money...LOL I start training for my new job on Tuesday, so hopefully will have some money. woo hoo! Have a good weekend!

Good for you Deb. Have fun. I guess I go enough as it is too...I was planning another RH function with a friend and hubby heard that (its an over niter) and he said, Haven't you been gone too much this yr? Oh s_it! He finally caught on..lol But he really doesn't care, just pulling my strings. Work has been awful lately too. We have so many out with flu that lots of us are trying to cover for dietary. They have quite a time with help in that dept. My schedule is so messed up, I need a palm pilot with me to figure out which thing I have to do next..hehe have a great weekend everyone.

Our spa day was fantastic. I was still feeling a little sickly on Friday and part of Saturday. My stomach is still not the same. My sister was having problems too. Friday nite we went to visit my niece and her family. Love my little great niece. She is too funny. She laughs when she sneezes! Spa day included a 30 min massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. It was such a treat, although I felt chilled most of the time. Our shopping was more for us than anything. Did find a few things for the kids. Got a scrapbooking kit for my friend's grandaughter (my little princess). She is my honorary grandaughter and wanted to give her a bd present. Got the boys a snowman kit among other things. Bought myself some scrapbooking stuff....can never have too much! Work today and start training for my other job tomorrow. Deb

I've certainly been busy trying to get ready for the SS games as well as getting things together for our trip---I really do need to begin packing since we leave on Friday.

I long ago decided we should have named our last born Dena Rose.  Seems whatever she steps in, she comes out smelling like one.

The resort we'll be staying at is an all inclusive one which isn't our first choice.  Yes, everything is included in the price (which was free because of the contest she won) but she wants to take lots of photos and the one price resorts are usually out away from cities so you'll spend all of your time there.  We've decided to go by bus to Santo Domingo for a couple of nights for more variety.

Dena was checking the internet for tours we can take and ended up explainging the situation to the owner of a tour company.  (she wants to talk photos and even considered renting a car so we can get away from the mundane)  He checked out her website, loves her photos, and e-mailed her that he'd be interested in trading tours for photos.  Seems he's begun several new tours and needs pics for brochures.   He's willing to take me with the package so we'll be getting nearly $500 in tours for whatever pics she takes.

Please keep your collective fingers crossed and hope for good weather so she gets good shots.

I'll toast you all with a pina colada while I'm gone(probably one for each of you!!)

No matter what you do or where you stay, Jenx, I envy your travels. You have a great traveling companion with Dena and get to see the world through a photographer's eyes! Enjoy! I go again for training at the hospital for the health information clerk job. I am enjoying it and this has changed my whole outlook! I am so happy! Enjoying the SS game and don't care if I get my Christmas Cards out this year either. Just enjoying life as it is. Hugs, Deb
