Pixie, Nicky your squares arrived today and I've posted them in my bucket.  They're gorgeous---but then, I knew they would be.

I got your squares today Judy. They are lovely.

Has anyone started putting theirs together yet? Or any ideas how you're going to?       - I am going to put a dc round on each in white and go from there. I was thinking about putting each person's squares in one row, that way I could start putting it together and add the others as I get them. Anyone else have any thoughts yet?

I was going to crochet around each square with black yarn. Then lay all squares out to see how I would put them together. I think I like your idea of crocheting around them in white yarn, then put them together using black yarn.  The white would make each square stand out better.  So far I have 35 squares from participants.

Right now I have 30 squares. I've recieved them from Michelle, Cathy. Nicky, Judy and Carol so far...and myself, of course...lol. I hope I'm not missing any that were sent.

So far they look good with the white around them so I'll stick with it.

Brandi,

Have you not received my squares yet???  I was sure I sent them when I received yours.  I wonder if they've been lost or if I goofed.  I have extras so, if you PM me with your address, I'll drop some more in the mail asap.  I wish you'd mentioned it earlier.  I'm sorry for the mix up.

I want to let you know that I've received more squares in the mail & I have sent each person a PM.

I don't know where a person can find more generous & kind people than those  here on the BB. Crafting people certainly have good qualities about them, it seems to me.

I've brought my squares to work to share with my co-workers. They are in awe that you all would send me squares even tho I have dropped out. (one way to extend & share your thoughtfulness & generosity) My friend Deb is now crocheting squares for me too!! She wants to use up bits of yarn she has and has made 9 squares for me. (I told her she should be in the exchange!) I am hoping that her & I can get together for a few hours so she can guide me along. She has shown me a little while we are at work...But I need to sit down & really give it a good try.

All the squares are great & we oohed & awed over them at work. This is going to be a really nice afghan when all is said & done. I just want to tell you THANK YOU for including me & sharing with me. you all are the best!!

I wasn't able to post yesterday to let everyone know I received my squares from Deb. I'm amazed, I didn't know it was possible to make such intricate designs with just a bit of yarn and a needle. You did a great job! It's quite evident that I'm an amateur among a bunch of pros.

I've scanned and posted them in my bucket if anyone wants to see. I now have 40 squares. Is that all of them? Did everyone receive my offerings? I still have 5 left but I made extras.

I'm not even going to think of putting them together until after the holidays. In fact, I might just have to wait until Judy visits and see if she'll help me. I know I can figure out a way of getting them together but she should be able to show me a more efficient method. Think on it, I still have quilt squares to put together. I was kind of waiting to see if Silversong would come back to us but she's MIA. I'm also relieved to know the state squares aren't due until end of Jan instead of the beginning. With the lastborn coming home for the holidays, I'll be VERY short of time for awhile.

We'll be leaving here early Sunday, heading home. Will anyone be along the route and available for a cuppa?? I could probably get the Boss to stop for 45 minutes or so. If so, let me know SOON!

I believe there should be 45 squares. We started with 10 members and one Donna had to drop out.

Also want to check with Roma and Deborah to make sure they recieved my squares.  I have not heard from them to see if they got them.

Hi everyone!  I'm back!  My PM stopped working but thanks to the people in Member services I got it fixed.

I like 2 rows on 4 squares being finished,  but have had too much going on to finish.  I hope to finish soon.  I have to get on my quilt squares.

I hope you ladies don't mind but I started a new thread for just posting who you've received squares from.  You can find it here:

http://www.creativehomeartsclub.com/Community/Forums.aspx?g=posts&t=109518

My life is just so hectic right now I can't tell my head from my feet and keeping track of things is non-exhistant.  This will just make it a little easier for me, one less thing to worry about.  I will get my list and post to the thread later today.

We are done with the first crocheted set for the friendship afghan. But maybe in the future we could do another one. I believe there are only two of us that have it all together...Jenx and Michelle? They both have them posted if you want to see...Cathy is yours done too? Maybe there is more than I think..

Our friendship afghan is pretty much finished but there are no rules that say no one can begin another.  We have 3 ladies right here who would like to participate.  If any of you (or anyone else) would like to head it up---that means make the guidelines---you can begin another.  Just call out and ask how many are interested.  I'm not certain that many of those who just finished would want to try it again right away but, who knows??

I haven't read back through all the posts yet - where are the photos of the afghan posted? I'd love to see those that are finished.    (and join in the next one, if there is one)

Karen, you have to go back to "Crochet" under "Afghan Squares---received from thread" and you'll find Cathy's listed under Oct 4---it's in her photobucket.  Mine was posted on Oct 12 and is attached to the post.  I don't remember who else if finished---if anyone.
