What tips can you offer those just starting in digital scrapbooking?

I have picaboo, but haven't used it yet.  Is there one company that is better than another?  What about price?  The books are so expensive.

I LOVE DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING! I BUY MY SCRABOOKS FROM CRAFT STORES OR DEPARTMENT STORES. THEY COME IN A LOT OF DIFFERENT STYLES AND HAVE CLEAR POCKET TYPE PAGES. THERE ARE A LOT OF SITES ON THE COMPUTER WHERE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD (FOR FREE) PAPERS AND ELEMENTS FOR YOUR SCRAPBOOK PAPERS.

I would say shop around for free software to get a feel for digital scrapbooking. Then when your ready upgrade to a better software with more features. Some don't cost too much but its better to start slow so you don't make a huge investment and then decide its not for you.

Anyone have links to the free software? I have seen so much talk on the sites of various software. I have downloaded different elements from various sources digitally. But have only used the elements in hybrid-type of scraping. EX: Print out element and apply to traditional scrapbook layouts.

I am an independent consultant with Creative Memories and you could go to my website:
www.mycmsite.com/peniann for a free download to our super Storybook Creator software. You can make a storybook with it and you will love the quality.
Once you get into the website, go to the bottom ribbon and click on
Photo Books
In the box shop digital, click the bottom link Shop all Digital Products. Scroll down a bit and under the middle picture, under the link Digital Scrapbooking Software, is FREE StoryBook Creator 3.0 Software Download.
Follow the link.
I love that this gives a person the opportunity to try out the software and if you want to purchase the book, you can. If you find you don't like what you made, don't buy it. You don't lose anything.

Hope this helps.
