Hey everyone, I just dropped in to see what everyone is doing.

Seems like everyone has been making lots of IF cards. I myself have been really busy with them. Haven't even had time to post anynew pictures to photo-bucket. I had an order for 27 flower cards for this 95 year man that lives in our community. Now I am working on Chrismas cards for our SnowFlake Craft Bazzar that is on 1 December this year. So I only have a little over a month to get all my cards done.

I was just reading the last couple of posts, on page 28 and saw where some of you don't like to use tape for the IF cards. All I use is double sided tape for my designs and then clear shipping tape to secure all of the folds, and then use the Dbl Sticky tape to mount the design card to the folded card. Some times if my design is kind of bulky, I press it under a real heavy book. Just what I have gotten used to using. What ever works for you is what you should use.

I am sorry about the shell patterns, I do have them but haven't had time to make sure they usable. But it sounds like Patricia Louise has come up with one for you all. And Welcome Patrica Louise, hope you are enjoying it here.

Janel, I do have one of a flamingo, and heron, but will have to check and see if I have it on a disk so I can post it to my photo-bucket. I too like the FL themed cards.

We are in the process of setting up a new PC, and getting high speed internet, so when we do , I will be able to get on here and maybe post more stuff.

I think of you gals often, just don't seem to find the time to get on here.

Hugs to all. Hobbit/Joan

Welcome back Joan. I missed you. You are our inspiration for IF. I started a few Christmas cards today. Got to get them finished. I also like the double sided tape.

Hobbit, good to hear from you gal, Jenx and I had been talking about you a couple weeks ago. We definitely want to meet up with you while she's in Fl...I'd be willing to work around your schedule and of course Jenx's. I also would love to have the patterns for the flamingo and heron. Let me know what you need from me okay? Again, nice to see you on the boards again Big Grin

I meant to ask this question a week or so ago, have any of you ever used "pre-printed" holiday cards (the ones with the sayings inside) and turned them into IF cards? I'm not sure about this but it seems to be an inexpensive way to do a 'set'. You only have to buy the box (and alot of stores, especially $$ type stores) have them for @ $1.00 to $5.00, that's cheaper than buying the 'blank sets' at the craft store Confused

Hi again, I have just added some new cards to my photo bucket, you are welcome to check it out.

Since the patterns for the Heron and Flamingo are my own I will post them here now. Also a few other cards I made.

Janel, I think I have heard of others that have done the pre-printed card thing, haven't used them myself, but if you are able to cover the design on the outside of the card with your design card, I don't see why you couldn't make it work. I usually just get white and cream 110lb weight card stock and make my own. Once in awhile I will buy the pre cut ones.

Wish you and Jenx could come to our Bazaar on the 1st of Dec. Will have to see what we can work out. Not sure where would be a good place in the middle of Sebring and Ft. Myers.

I still wish they had an easier way of posting pictures on here. On the COC message board, you post right on to the site. Really easy.

So here goes girls will have to go back to photo bucket, will be back soon. Here are the finished flamingo, and heron cards.

Here are the patterns, they are not numbered, but pretty easy to follow. I used ribbon for both of them and then added the feathers after the design was finished. If you have any problems let me know.

Here is one of the note cards I made the patten was made by one of the COC members. So, can't post it.

I had several orders for this one, and it was a pretty complicated pattern, also done by one of the COC members

I am going to post somemore of the cards on the photobucket, as this is just too much flipping back and forth.

Janel, the Palm Tree pattern is one of the free patterns on the COC site. I think it is listed under 10 more patterns, with a beach scene challenge picture. It is on the main page. There is also, a light house, beach towell, setting sun, umberella, and some more I can't remember. All you have to do is click on them and then print them out.

I have missed you all a lot just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day. And I hate this dial up, hopefull when we get our new PC up and running and get high speed I will be able to get on more often.

Way to go Rudy, what kind of card making are you doing. I know you do wonderful cards, so anything you teach would be great.

Must go and get busy, on my Christmas cards for the show.

Hugs to all Hobbit.

Your cards are beautiful, but i've said that before Wink. I would also like the palm tree one, is that one of your own? I didn't see it in the pattern area. All those 'seaside' themes would make one heck of a set of cards for someone, like my relatives that live out west or up north Big Grin

Hobbit..lovely additions my friend..beautiful!
Catmac..tips? hmmm i guess i would say, plan lots but be prepared to only get 1/3-1/2 done..LOL you know how it is when ladies get yapping.. Smiler The other thing - make sure you are organized . Make yourself some short notes about what you want to cover and for each card you are doing, write yourself an 'ingredient list'.. I am not sure how you will have it set up at Michaels?? i planned on 7 cards for them to make (a little ambitious? yup! hehehe) but they did get four done. I had little kits prepared for each card and gave them the ingredients at the beginning and showed them an example of mine..I told them they could follow mine but that i would really prefer that they felt free to add their own style/twist to things. In the end, they all used basically the same things ( a few additions of cardstock colours etc) but they all had different cards. It was really nice to see...

Good luck Catmac and let us know how you make out! Are you making Christmas cards?

Hobbit,

on the boards.
It sounds like you have been very busy with your crafts.
I don't know if you have caught with Jenks member mets but I got to meet her and Bill as they came through my area of Florida in the Panhandle on their way to Sebring. It was a wonderful visit and I really loved meeting them. It would be nice if all of us Florida girls could get togather for a met.
Take care of yourself and don't wear your fingers to bone doing crafts. Big Grin

Sorry about not being on much, but trying to get ready for the SF Bazaar, and right now waiting to see what Noel is going to do.

One minute we are in the cone the next we are not. Really hoped we had lucked out this year.

No I haven't met Jenx yet, and it would be nice for all of us to get together, but we are really spread out over the state, and I am not much of a traveler, but will give it some thought.

I will try and do better about getting on here. Take care all, hope you can use the two patterns to make some FL themed cards.

Hugs to all Hobbit

FIRST AND FOREMOST I'D LIKE TO APOLOGIZE FOR STATING TO "NOT USE GLUE OR TAPE" ON THE CARDS. I am a 'beginner' so I should just stick to what's best for me Wink. Thank you for the patterns Patricia Louise and Joan for the insight as to where to find more 'seaside themes'. I did a card today, should have brought more than one to work with me, could've done 3 or 4 by now and I still have 2 more hours til I go home. Oh well, definitely going to pack up more to do tomorrow, at this rate I should be able to get alot of them done and save the 'other crafts' for at home.

Scootchie you are welcome. I think that it is neat to do a theme....I just wish that I could find the time to do some....Sure love to do the cards and crafts,,,Claudeen loved the watch iris folding card that I made her for her birthday....We play rummikub every tuesday from 1pm to 6pm and always have a homemade snack break....Today was a full lunch...I used heavy card stock for the outside and the inside of the card. It does not seem to show the tape that way. I don't use the double sided tape just the single and put very little on and it seems to work...That double sided tape is really expensive and WalMart had scott tape for 50 cents for a double package...and I bought it before I knew how to do this as I just can't pass up a sale...LOL....Will be looking forward to seeing what you do with the shell patterns....I have lots of patters that I have collected off the net and would be glad to share with you any time...

Hello everybody sounds like you all have been busy with fun stuff while this gal is doing all of my work and hubbys work...You just don't relize how much they do until you have to do it...Daniels ankle is getting better and he is walking real well with the walker outside and from furniture to furniture inside....LOL reminds me when the kids started walking...Ok I'm bad...better run...before I get into too much trouble...Have a wonderful week...everyone and have fun making cards..I love looking at what you all have done,,This such a talented group...Hugs Patricia

I got another card done today, finished the other one, they are looking pretty good, I think. I have 4 different crafts started and need to get them all done by the 30th UGH, I need to get my big buttocks in gear soon! Need to stay away from the tv, my problem not y'alls. And here I could be working on one of those crafts and what am I doing...CHATTING LOL

Frowner Frowner I am 'dope' slapping myself for NOT working on my IF cards. I have made a few, but not the sets I wanted. I guess I just got to involved in making other gifts for my PODS and shopping for them, I'm a very very bad girl. Maybe i'll be able to do some next week while i'm baking...hmmm, not a bad idea now all I have to do is stick with it!

Patricia, I was just looking at your If cards and think you've done some amazing design work there. I tend toward the simpler designs and have difficulty mixing mediums the way you have. I'll have to try harder to imitate your work.

Merry Christmas everyone, I just got my pictures of the Snowflake craft show put on my photobucket, and wanted to share with you. I am posting three pictures of my tables the night of set up. I had my 5"x7" cards and note size cards. The table that are empty behind be are for the gift basket we did for the raffle. They weren't brought in till the next morning.

This is what I have been working on for a few months getting ready for this show. I sold 53 cards the day of the show and got a couple of orders. Thanks for looking, will be posting some of the cards in my photobucket after the holidays.

Hope everyone has a good and safe holiday.
