temps yesterday were 1 degree with the windchill...brrrr! and then in late afternoon, it warmed up to 20-something and we got MORE snow.. i took the dog for a walk, and let him pull me 'the long way' so we were out in it for about an hour..it was around 5pm and the roads were so quiet..it was beautiful - big flakes of heavy snow... only problem was i kept having to lift bear up and clean the balls of snow out from between his toes... and when we got about 3 blocks from home, he started into a trot..he wanted home BADLY! last time i let him talk me into a long one!!! heheehe

SNOWSTORM !!!! well , we are in the beginning of a HUGE snowstorm alert (as are some of our friends to the south of the great lakes , both east and west) They are calling for 40cm = 16 inches minimum. And the snow is going to be blowing with the chance of ice pellets and even the odd clap of thunder and lightening thrown in!!!
There have already been delays in airport travel and some of the roads west of us are getting treacherous.
So tomorrow will be a good PJ day! I would like to say i will be baking but.... it seems that we caught another mouse either last nite or the nite before (hubby didn't check the trap yesterday) So, we will see if the way is clear tomorrow to start putting stuff back or not... i am sure getting tired of this.. and a weeeee bit grouchy too!

Glenda, did you try ice on it? They will probably give you ibuoprophen and tell you to rest which is hard at this time of the year!

Glenda..so sorry you aren't feeling well Pulled muscles can be horribly painful! i hope that it gets feeling better soon... and i echo boop..ice sometimes help as opposed to heat. or even alternating the two, for 5 mins each , with a 5 min. break inbetween...
keep us posted as to how you are feeling... hugs rudy

Yesterday we had a snowfall, not humongous, but the roads were slippery when I had to drive home from one of my Godson's birthday party. (Since I don't have grandchildren, I am chosen alot to be the Godmother).
The roads should be sanded by today.

Looks like it is going to be a nice day today, maybe a little sun will work its way through the clouds. Thanks ladies no I didn't think about putting ice on it. I sat most of the day yesterday with the heating pad on it. But Rudy you are probably right I will try alternating the ice and heat see if it helps. It is a little better today. But after a week of this dumb pain it has worn me down. Glenda G

Let it snow ! Let it snow! Let it snow! We can hardly see across the street!
Daps, if you are around, i can relate to your excitement of the snow! what is happening to me??? LOL i think it is the thought of a 'justifiable pj day' that truly has me excited!
Pine..are you getting snow?
Glenda..sometimes the heat actually makes it worse b/c while it relaxes the muscles, it also opens up the blood flow which can cause more pain. The ice will help to reduce the swelling and inflammation. And the alternating of the two sometimes works... your body will tell you what feels best. hope you can rest today. speaking from experience, i do understand how much pain wears you out. rest if you can girl.

We got a little bit of snow last night, the concrete surfaces and road s are covered, but didn't stick to the grass. I'm still hoping for a nice covering of snow for when the kids all arrive on Friday. RE pains: I twisted wrong last week and hurt my back. OUCH! i used the heating pad til i got to the doctor and physical therapy. I was told to use ice the first 48 hrs, (too late for me) The PT did a cold pack thing on my back that was hooked to electrodes, and gave a massaging feeling to my back for about 20 minutes. then did ultra sound, which as warm, for another 10 or 15 minutes. The pain does just wear me out! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!! another friend told me that her husband uses alternateing ice and heat, 10 minutes each when he has back pain. GLEMDA, I hope your pain is gone real soon! mine is sure lingering though...seems like it has moved some, probably because I am walking funny, trying to compensate for the pain, which just moves the pain, or compounds it! AAARRRGGGHH!!

Hello girls well today and all next week in the low 50's high 40's. I can tell the weather is changing. My carpel tunnel has not been acting up much but is badly the last few days. I am so jealous of those of you who have snow. Maybe we will get some before Winter is gone .
